Rachel Peddie

I graduated from the University of Canterbury in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Psychology. Following this, I began my journey in Audiology at the University of Canterbury Masters Programme, through which I graduated with distinction in 2013. I happily received the University’s Masters Scholarship awarded for academic merit during my post-graduate study. Since graduating I have enjoyed working full-time as an audiologist in the Bay of Plenty.
I get great satisfaction from sharing my knowledge about hearing and hearing impairment with the community, and working with a diverse range of clients from 3 – 103 years of age! I love what I do because I have the opportunity every day to make a positive difference in people’s lives. Helping hearing impaired people hear better is so rewarding and I feel very grateful for this.
I grew up in Christchurch and moved to Tauranga at the beginning of 2014. I was recently married in the Bay of Plenty, and enjoy spending most of my weekends adventuring in the outdoors with my husband, friends and family, making the most of the warmer climate!

I completed a Master of Audiology degree at the University of Canterbury in 2015. Following this, I moved from Christchurch to the sunny Bay of Plenty to start my career as an audiologist for HearingLife in Tauranga.
I love meeting new people every day and finding solutions to fit each individual. I feel very privileged to be in a position where I can improve the quality of people’s lives by helping them to hear better and communicate more easily with loved ones.

I have been working as a private clinical Audiologist for 6 years in New Zealand and I am brand new to the HearingLife Team having started in 2017 after moving back to my hometown Tauranga.
I have a Science Degree majoring in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Audiology. I am a fully qualified Audiologist MNZAS with access to enable and ACC funding.
I take great pleasure in both the technical aspect of my job which heavily involves computers and programing as well as the emotional and communicative aspect which involves clients understanding and learning about their hearing and their options available.

Ben De Farias

Originally from Bay of Plenty, I am happy to return home after graduating with a masters of audiology degree from the University of Auckland in 2017.
I entered this field to help maximise awareness around hearing wellbeing and minimising barriers associated with seeking and getting help. I have found great passion in joining individuals on a journey from isolation to inspiration.
My recent degree means I am in a great position to provide a service based on the most up to date information and research.
